The sea Dolphins are one of the most loving creatures that God has created. They are playful, sweet, sociable beings. And most especially, they love kids. And Butandings (an almost extinct sea mammal which belongs to the species of Dolphins) of the Philippine sea, we can say, are the most adventurous ones.
They swim across the globe just to land in the seas of Donsol, Palawan and Cebu. And once there, they play, mingle with people and life will never be the same again…
Now, it’s good to know that a new indie film maker, in person of young and handsome Errol Ropero, has created a movie that deals with a friendship between a Filipino boy and a Butanding. It’s entitled “Bespren“.
“Jerome knows how to swim in the deep seas, I guarantee that, because I am the director of this film”, Errol told a blogger. “There were ‘hear-says’ that he doesn’t know to swim, when he did a separate movie. But Jerome will not accept a project if he doesn’t really know how to swim, well indeed he really can! It was an easy shoot with Jerome and the Butandings in some scenes in our latest movie Bespren, because Jerome can swim in deep seas and he can play with real and authentic Butandings.”
Other child actors and actresses are among the cast in the film Bespren. This is direk Errol’s fourth or fifth film to date. He has done other films in the past. (More on his other films on the succeeding issues of this blog site.—sssip*).
“I fell in love with the Butandings“, Jerome Miles Manzano, meanwhile, the lead actor of the film, said to a blogger. “They love to play with me when we shot the film. I can embrace them and hug them. I miss them so much.”
Bespren is an advocacy film for the youth and is going to be sponsored by DepEd (Department of Education). It’s so beautifully-done, capturing the beauty of the ocean and nature, and Jerome Miles Manzano acted so good.
Watch out for this film…. soon!
