ASSOCIATION OF PINOYPRINTMAKERS EXHIBIT AT THE CCP

CCP_PAP_Aviado_1

THE Association of Pinoyprintmakers (A/P), previously known as the Printmakers Association of the Philippines or PAP, will hold an exhibition entitled Papers and Layers on August 27 to September 25, 2016 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Second Floor Hallway Gallery and Little Theater Lobby.

For their 2016 show at the CCP, the Pinoyprintmakers go back to basics, so to speak and return to works on paper.  However, this does not necessarily mean that they are relegated as “traditional”, for printmaking is vital to the changes of the visual arts landscape. Though the works may be rendered on paper, the final prints may be transposed as sculptural works on paper, installation art with paper, and such. Hence, they just do not pander on one surface but rather give it layers by how they work with images as they add and or press them on surfaces.

Participating artists include Ambie Abano, Buen Abrigo, Jose Santos Ardivilla, Virgilio Aviado, Mars Bugaoan, Mica Cabildo, Benjie Torrado Cabrera, Kristen Cain, Salvador Ching, Joey Cobcobo, Jean Dee, Fil Delacruz, Janos Delacruz, Neil Doloricon, Noell EL Farol, Samantha Feleo, Jess Flores, Raul Isidro, Eugene Jarque, Lea Lim, Lenore RS Lim, Angelo Magno, Fara Manuel, Maja Markovic, Ged Merino, Jonathan Olazo, Renan Ortiz, Henrielle Pagkaliwangan, Rhoda Recto, Jun-Jun Sta, Ana, Suchin Teoh, Josephine Turalba, and Wesley Valenzuela.

The Pinoyprintmakers will interact with the public in an Artists Talk and Demonstration slated on September 7, 2pm-4pm, at the CCP MKP Hall.

Other exhibitions on view at the CCP are Promdi, the group exhibit of Dumaguete artists, until 14 August at the Pasilyo Vicente Manansala (2F Hallway Gallery) and Pasilyo Guillermo Tolentino (3F Hallway Gallery) and Ryan Rubio’s Instinctual Creationuntil 11 September Bulwagang Fernando Amorsolo (Small Gallery).

CCP gallery hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-6pm (or 8pm on days with performances in the Main Theater).

lenard on the road
lenard on the road

Kaya naman, take note.

Siyempre, mahirap ang preparations and all.

Like Nikki Co, Jansen Aguilar, Gertrud Hahn and JV Benito Villegas.

More power, Lenard! keep it up!

GMA-7 newly-signed artist- Nikki Co, will celebrate his 19th birthday with the orphans at Hospicio de San Jose on June 12. His manager, no less than Mr. Martin Martin of the Elites Model Management agreed with Nikki that this idea could be the best birthday treat of Nikki for himself.

“Nikki has always loved kids and how he feels sad whenever he sees an orphan”, Mr. Martin once said to a blogger. “That’s why I am so confident that Nikki is going to be very happy spending his 19th birthday with the orphans of Hospicio de San Jose. He knows that these kids needs to be happy and he wants to be with them!”

Joining Nikki on that special day are The Elites models/talents of Mr. Martin. Partly an outreach program for all Elites models/talents who are now  all joining the acting scene. In tow will be the Niksters fans of Nikki to give support to him.

The event starts at 2 p.m. onwards.

“It’s going to be a celebration of life!!!”, Mr. Martin concluded.

Come and join Nikki on this special event on June 12. And by this early, Nikki is already thanking all his sponsors for this charity birthday event.

fanny tf serrano endorses rodrigo duterte in a very special vid… saludo!

Noon pa man ay lumalaban na siya. Sumusuporta. Nagmamahal.

Hayan at marami siyang nahikayat. Kaya naman pakinggan natin siya.

FANNY TF SERRANO LOVES DUTERTE!

nakaka-touch ang ginawang suporta nina coco martin at lovi poe kay presidential bet grace poe!

lovi poe
lovi poe

AT SUSAN ROCES!!!

Everything changes in a minute!

Nakaka-touch.

MAGSAMA-SAMA PO TAYONG MGA TAGA-SHOWBIZ PARA SA ANAK NG ISANG HARI.

GRACE POE FOR PRESIDENT!

“Cinemalaya Institute conducts 2nd Intensive Film Workshops with International Faculty”

FILM professors from the New York Film School and the London Film School will teach advanced courses in screenwriting, editing and directing at the Cinemalaya Institute beginning May 2016.  Applications are now being accepted.

Sophia Wellington will teach Writing the Feature-length Screenplay, on May 24-July 2.  Designed for students with scriptwriting experience and with outlines or drafts of existing screenplays, the course will take students through the process of refining a feature idea, creating strong characters, developing a story arc, writing a step outline and a draft of the screenplay.  They will study plotting, visual storytelling, scene writing and dialogue as they meet the challenge of a robust outline.  At the end of the course, students will have a step outline and scenes to enable them to complete a draft of their feature screenplay.  Course instructor Sophia Wellington has taught screenwriting at many film schools including the London Film School and London Film Academy.  Wellington is an expert in script development.

Jon Hammond will teach film editing on June 6 to July 1, 2016.  Film Editing Class is an advanced and intensive four week course featuring lectures and exercises.  Key areas to be studied and explored are editing fiction, making the cuts (conventions and reasons), structure (the architecture of the film and editing as final rewrite), dramatic point of view (subjective and objective shots), editing dialogue scenes, montage sequences, action sequences and transitions, linear time, non-linear time and alternative realities  and others. The course is highly recommended for editors with some experience in nonnarrative or narrative forms, but would like to master the art of editing narrative fiction films.  Hammond is a freelance editor at BBC, ITV, C4, and many others.

Carlos Siguion-Reyna will teach Basic Filmmaking: The Silent Film, on 24 May to 2 July 2016. This is a six-week course in directing. In this course, students will apply the basics of film language in film exercises and achieve a basic mastery of the classic conventions and tools of the film directors.  Siguion-Reyna is an award winning film/theatre director.

Venue for the editing course will be at the Central Digital Lab while the Screenwriting and Directing courses will be held at the Shooting Galleries, both in Makati City.

The Cinemalaya Institute is the training arm of the Cinemalaya Foundation. Through the Cinemalaya Institute, the Cinemalaya Foundation focuses its efforts on providing education, training and accreditation of practitioners in key aspects of film production.
