What a perfect setting for a press conference, a blogger whispered to himself. the vast hallway-lobby of Cultural Center of the Philippines Little Theater and adjoining other theaters were transformed into an elegant dining area, complete with clothed chairs and tables in yellow textures. Flowers were everywhere, and great, new sculptures of artist Alejandro Tecson’s works were posted gigantically on the wall side, and the immortal painting of Arturo Luz on the other side. Fantastic.
The feeling was all too-perfect. And the buffet lunch that was served was like an ETERNITY to our stomachs. Selected media bloggers and editors were only invited, and great people from Cultural Center of the Philippines all joined them.
After the great lunch, everybody proceeded to the Little Theater to hear the speech of Mr. Chris Millado, Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Artistic Director, as he announced all the many artistic events coming-up in the year 2016. More festivals, more workshops, more concert acts/performances, more educational tours…. and the highlight: AN ENCYCLOPEDIA ON PHILIPPINE ART, to be published by the CCP next year.
(A SEPARATE BLOG FEATURE WILL ANNOUNCE ALL THESE FORTHCOMING NEW EVENTS AND GRANDEUR AT THE CCP.—SSSIP*)
Meanwhile, in-between Mr. Millado’s SONA-like (like a State of the Nation Address) speech, musical and dance numbers from CCP’s in-house resident companies were seen. It gave you a feeling of a pure and aghast entertainment.
CCP will also extend its architectural grounds with the building of a new theater complex which have a sitting capacity of 360 people. It will be built next year.
Indeed, Cultural Center of the Philippines is soaring higher. Long live, CCP!!!
