FROM SSSIP 🙂

POSTED ABOVE IS THE  PROMOTIONAL VID OF MR. PIPO CIFRA FOR THE GIGANTIC NEW MUSICAL PLAY OF PHILIPPINE STAGERS FOUNDATION, IN COOPERATION WITH PIPO CIFRA PRODUCTIONS- “FILIPINAS: 1941 (ISANG DULAYAWIT)”

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK MR. CIFRA HIMSELF FOR PROVIDING US AND ALLOWING US TO GET THE URL OF THIS PROMO VID HE POSTED ON HIS PERSONAL FACEBOOK ACCOUNT. WE FELT SO HONORED FOR THAT.

TOGETHER WITH OTHER PRESS PEOPLE AND BLOGGERS WHO SAW THE TEASER OF THE PLAY IN THE RECENTLY-CONCLUDED KICK-OFF PARTY OF PSF IN LINE WITH PLAY, AND OTHERS WHO SAW THE REHEARSALS OF THE PLAY- ALL IN UNISON, THEY WERE ALL ENTHRALLED WITH THE BEAUTY OF THE MUSIC THAT MR. CIFRA HAS CREATED FOR THE PLAY.

“I WAS INPIRED BY MR. VINCE TANADA’S LIBRETTO OF THE PLAY, AND I CREDIT HIM FOR IT”, MR. CIFRA TOLD ON THE VID POSTED ABOVE.

RIGHT FROM THE START TO THE END OF THE PLAY, THE ENERGY OF MR. CIFRA’S MUSIC IS SO CAPTIVATING, PROFOUND, MAGNIFYING… AND VERY FILIPINO. HE CAPTURED THE TEXTURE AND THE FEELING OF AN ALMOST-FORGOTTEN PAST.

THIS BLOGGER WOULD LIKE TO CHERISH ANEW THE SOUL THAT ONCE EXISTED IN THE HEARTS OF EVERY FILIPINO- IN THAT ERA, IN THAT DARK AGE OF WAR… EMBRACE IT, FEEL IT. THE HEROISM LAID THERE, TILL THE END.

ALMOST LIKE A FEELING OF ‘DEJA VU’. LIKE A JOURNEY BACK TO THE FAR PROVINCES, THE RICEFIELDS AND THE TRUE BEAUTY AND BRAVERY OF EVERY FILIPINO BEING.

HEAR THE MUSIC. SEE THE GREAT DIRECTION. FEEL THE WORDS WRITTEN ON THIS GREAT MASTERPIECE.

“FILIPINAS: 1941″…OPENING DAY ON JULY 12, 2014 AT SM NORTH EDSA, CINEMA 9…SEE U AT THE CINEMA!
