Last year, my “thirst” for ARTISTRY was totally “quenched” by a group of young and artistic people who TOTALLY dedicated themselves for the ARTS.
I never knew it would happen. I never knew it would come from them…
I mean, the WATER that would fully quench my thirst for great artistic freedom and intense presentations of totally wonderful theater productions.
I was first looking for it in the world of cinema, but I failed. I didn’t get it there.
I saw it on the THEATER FORM-
led by a wonderful and kind person-
MASTER VINCE TANADA.
Through his own group of great and powerful, young crop of Performing Artists-
THE PHILIPPINE STAGERS FOUNDATION.
It started last year- the year 2013, in the middle part of that year- that I got so amazed watching and watching the play-
“Bonifacio: Isang Sarsuwela”.
And until the year 2014 came, I was still watching it, luckily, and “how blessed am I” to be able to see this play for more than 20 times!
Because this play – “Bonifacio: Isang Sarsuwela” is one of the most successful plays ever in Theater history.
With more than 500 performances to date, it had journeyed all-over the Philippines and educated the young and the old…
A TRUE WORK OF ART, that is, “Bonifacio: Isang Sarsuwela”.
And now, again, and hopefully, not the last time,
“BONIFACIO: ISANG SARSUWELA” will again be seen-
this coming May 23, Friday, at the Tanghalang Pasigueno (back of Pasig Municipal Hall).
Starting at 2 p.m., with two shows: one version from PSF’s new batch of summer workshoppers,
and another version from PSF’s own legitimate theater actors, headed by Master Vince.
One grand time, one unforgettable moment again-
to be there,
(“See you all back again, Stagers”— “17”)
(as the words were written, in robert manuguid silverio’s “book of love”, dated may 21, 2014)
