It’s one of the darkest pages of Philippine History… But it’s where real heroes fought, died, persecuted…
Real soldiers who offered their lives to free a nation from the wrath of Japanese occupation…
Together with the American soldiers who chose to die with Filipinos…
It was the most dramatic moment- EVER- in the history of a NATION.
As the soldiers marched-in for DEATH.
THE BATAAN DEATH MARCH.
Yes, Philippine Stagers Foundation, upon the creative and brilliant and beautiful mind of Mr. Vince Tanada, is choosing this dark page in the History of the Philippine nation- to be the next play for their upcoming new season (13th season) which will officially open on the month of July.
But as of this early, Vince is already deep into research, and his artistic mind is now beggining to create scenes, dialogues & blockings on his next forthcoming play.
The music is also being prepared now, and all the Stagers of PSF are already pretty excited to perform the parts that director Vince will give to them.
“It’s going to be the most beautiful play I will ever do”, Vince said to this blogger. “But also the bloodiest and the most violent one I could ever imagine. I want to present the sacrifices given by both the Filipino and American soldiers at that time so that our Filipino youth today will value and realize that without these soldiers, they may not enjoy now the privileges of a free nation.”
Indeed, it’s Vince’s advocacy to teach and discipline the Filipino youth of today. He’s quite disappointed with how the youths think and act nowadays. As if they don’t care. And thanks God, Vince is here to show them the real meaning of being a Filipino youth- via the messages hidden in his tremendous stage plays.
“There will be lots of gunfights, torture scenes, crying scenes”, Vince added. “But there will be redemption. The play will show the triumph of a human spirit.”
Wow. This blogger is already very excited about this new play! For sure, the play will awaken the hearts of many, revive the pains inflicted by the Japanese to the Filipinos at that time, and think all over again- who’s the greatest ALLY of a Philippine nation?
Yes. And this blogger hopes that others will agree.
