For more than 10 times that a blogger had watched the Katipunan history play version of Philippine Stagers Foundation’s  Bonifacio: Isang Sarsuwela, tears still flowed in his eyes. The greatest scene of all was that “crying scene” between Bonifacio (played by Mr. Vince Tanada) and Oryang (played by Ms. Cindy Liper) wherein they both felt the greatest pains of their unselfish sacrifices for a nation, as Andres Bonifacio laid there dying of wounds and physical torture.

At that moment, Vince Tanada’s great body movements was so hurting to look at- trembling, agonizing… and still, he managed to speak words of undying love and care for Oryang. Everyone watching was silent and at the verge of tears and breakdown.

And Ms. Liper provided great support- her acting as comparable to that of Ms. Lea Salonga in  Ms. Saigon, her singing voice was so enigmatic and powerful, while Vince’s singing voice, too, echoed amidst the evangelical flows and rhythms of eternity.

Another great scene, in which, PMPC (Philippine Movie Press Club) Prexy– in person of Mr. Fernan de Guzman, was found crying in his audience seat as he watched the play one previous time,  was that of Patrick Libao (playing as Emilio Jacinto) promising to a “dead and unseen” Bonifacio that he’ll take care of his wife forever, and that he (Bonifacio) is the greatest man he’d ever known. Patrick’s great delivery of words and subtletity in acting made everybody cry whenever that scene was performed onstage.

Another favorite scene of the blogger in this more than 2 hours play was the Sigaw Ng Pugadlawin series of dances, songs and choreography. It’s the most entertaining portion od the play.
