I will never forget one scene in a Hollywood film I saw many years back (I guess, that was 1993). It was in the movie “Alive”, which starred one of my favorite Hollywood actors Ethan Hawke. In that scene, Ethan, together with a co-actor, climbed-up a great number of mountains in the Andes, in search of LIFE AND RESCUE. They had a plane crash in the middle of a great snow. Together with other young rugby players who all had to endure the great hardships of surviving the snow and the vast mountains, the movie was actually based on actual events.
And there was Ethan, with his FAITH stronger than the mountains, as he said this words- “We must keep on walking…At the other side of these mountains, there will be life. If we fail, at least we’ve tried, at least we did keep on walking…”
Those were the words somehow. As years passed by, I somehow forgot the exact words of Mr. Ethan Hawke on that tremendous film about a young group of men trapped in the snow and had to eat the fresh corpses of their dead friends just to survive on that plane crash.
But the movie was told not in a GROSS manner. The movie had a message.
That no matter how difficult it was to survive, we all had to live. We all must go on. We all must keep on walking…
My country, the Philippines, had experienced a lot of tragedies already in the year 2012.
Natural calamities, poverty problems, the approval of new laws to be passed which were confusing and even nature contradicts them… and so many other problems.
But somehow, the spirit of the Filipino people lives.
They kept on fighting, they kept on living, they kept on WALKING.
And as the year 2013 enters, the new hopes of the Filipino people unveils…
Their spirits will live forevermore.
JUST KEEP ON WALKING, MY COUNTRYMEN.
JUST KEEP ON
LIVING.
An angel will guide us all…
FOREVER.

Lance could always “transform” himself as an artist. He could change his looks, his personality & character, depending on the demands of any given role in a film or television. As a singer, he’s so versatile. That’s why, he fully deserved the Gawad America award as the- “Most Recreative/Reinventive Artist” of the year!
Congrats, Lance!

They, were, THE GREATEST HOLLYWOOD FILMS ON LOVE STORIES!
Most of them, I had seen on the cinemas… since I was very young… since I was a boy!
A few, I abled to watch at DVD’s…
I will always cherish these films.
AND FALL IN LOVE ALL-OVER AGAIN.
Hope you like my choices! (These are my ‘own personal choices’ and not to be contested by anyone, ok?) Enjoy reading this blog on Hollywood Love Story Films!
Let’s get it on!
1.) GONE WITH THE WITH THE WIND

“Definitely, the greatest! Such a classic! It told a story of an immortal love… that human beings are capable of loving ONE TRUE LOVE! Great setting, great cast. What a masterpiece!”
2.) OUT OF AFRICA
Sip & Sip says:
“The most subdued love story film I have ever seen. Excellent. Meryll Streep was so superb in this movie! With traces of ‘Gone With The Wind’ backdrop, you would feel the beauty of life…. and love.”
3.) SOMEWHERE IN TIME
Sip & Sip Says:
“A very unique plot. An extra-ordinary love story.”
4.) ENDLESS LOVE
Sip & Sip says:

5.) OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN
Sip & Sip says:
“It landed on the fifth slot of my best Hollywood film love stories because of its very beautiful theme song. And young Timothy Bottoms looked so great in this early 1980′s film.”
6.) MAKING LOVE
Sip & Sip says:
“This is the most decent gay film I’ve ever seen! Wow! It starred the young Harry Hamlin then, with very gorgeous Michael Ontkean, and Miss Kate Jackson. The story of young male doctor who’s married, but gay- and fell in love with a young male drifter. The kissing scene here of Michael and Harry is the gentlest kissing scene this blogger have ever seen between two MAN.”
7.) A WALK TO REMEMBER
Sip & Sip Says:
“This film definitely made me cry… more than twice! A very beautiful but simple love story. Ms. Mandy Moore was so naive but poignant in this movie. I really love this film!”
8.) LOVE STORY
Sip & Sip says:
“With love, you can give your all.”
9.) THE VOW
Sip & Sip says:
“This is the only love story film which was shown only this year and was included on this list because of one great factor: MR. CHANNING TATUM. He was so amazing in this movie!”
10.) SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE
Sip & Sip says:
“Oh, my! I wanna be at the Statue of Liberty forever after I watched this film!”
11.) DYING YOUNG

harry connick, jr.: one of the actors in the 2001 improvisational american film “the simian line”.
our SIMIAN LINE.
BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF THIS IMPROVISATIONAL AMERICAN FILM MADE IN 2001 (eleven years ago):
In addition to declaring that Katharine’s (Lynn Redgrave) head and heart line are hopelessly fused into one “simian line,” eccentric fortune-teller Arnita (Tyne Daly) makes a dire prediction: by the end of the year, one of the three couples present at a party will have broken up. But will it be Katharine and her much-younger boyfriend, Rick (Harry Connick Jr.); her upstairs tenants Marta (Monica Keena) and Billy or new yuppie neighbors Sandra (Cindy Crawford) and Paul (Jamey Sheridan)? Fueled by Arnita’s prediction, each of the couples begin to drift apart in a sea of doubt and distrust. Can the “divine” intervention of two well-meaning ghosts (William Hurt and Samantha Mathis) keep these earthly conflicts from erupting into multiple self-fulfilling prophecies?

from sip & sip
“It’s so seldom that I see movies that indeed comes from the deepest feelings of the heart. The movie- The Simian Line, is one classic movie for me. It told a story of love, of souls, and of human bondage. With the Hudson River as the backdrop of the story, I felt soengrossed when I saw this movie eleven years ago…
The Simian Line in our palms is the great connection of heart and mind. It evolved as ONE.
How I wish movies like this one, of tenderness, of happy endings, will still survive in the present norms of our ever-changing society and “reality-based” existence…
If only people will still believe that material things are not the only things that makes people happy, maybe a movie like “The Simian Line” will catch their mind… and souls.”
ONE LAST NOTE
HARRY CONNICK, JR.: the all-around artist.

“BETTER CATCH AMERICAN ACTOR HARRY CONNICK, JR. IN THIS FILM. MAYBE THERE’S A DVD OF THIS FILM THAT EXISTS OR, SEARCH IT IN YOUTUBE.COM. BUT THE MAGIC OF THIS FILM LIES WHEN YOU WATCH IT ON A BIG SCREEN OR A WIDE TELEVISION. HIS ACTING PERFORMANCE IN THIS MOVIE, I CAN SAY, IS ONE OF THE MOST SENSITIVE AND THE MOST BRILLIANT ATTACKS OF AN ACTOR EVER DONE FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL CHARACTER FOR A MOVIE.
HARRY SO LOVED THIS FILM, I REMEMBERED AT THAT TIME- BECAUSE IT FELT LIKE HOME TO HIM. THE SETTING WAS HIS REAL ‘HOME’, THE HUDSON RIVER IN NEW ORLEANS.
HARRY IS SUCH AN ARTIST. HE’S ALSO A MUSICIAN, A SINGER, A PRODUCER.
