CCP launches art centers in the provinces

To further strengthen its linkages and cooperation with local organizations in the regions, the Cultural Center of the Philippines through its Cultural Exchange Department will launch the ten (10) pilot sites of Kaisa sa Sining: the CCP Regional Art Centers and University Art Associates with the signing of a three-year Memorandum of Understanding this January 24, 2014 at the CCP.

Around the country, there are several educational institutions and local organizations who already have existing structures, programs and facilities that can very well support and sustain various arts and cultural events and activities. As such, the CCP would like to fortify a dynamic partnership with prominent educational institutions, non-government organizations and local government units in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The specific goal of Kaisa sa Sining is to broaden public participation in the arts, promote and showcase artistic excellence and facilitate a dynamic collaboration between the CCP and among the regional centers and universities. The key areas of the said partnership includes training & apprenticeship, touring & move-over productions, sharing of relevant cultural resource materials, access to arts & cultural information, venues & facilities; and participation in major cultural events.

The ten pilot sites/organizations include the following: LUZON (St. Louis University, Baguio; City Government of Batangas; Barasoain Kalinangan Foundation Inc., Bulacan; Heritage City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur), VISAYAS (Negros Cultural Foundation, Bacolod; Central Philippine University, Iloilo; Siliman University, Dumaguete), MINDANAO (Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, Iligan; Musikahan sa Tagum Foundation Inc., Tagum City; Arts and Sciences Educator’s Association – Culture and the Arts Region X (ASEACA).

For more information about Kaisa sa Sining, contact the CCP Cultural Exchange Department at tel. no. 832-1125 locals 1708-1709.

  1. Good day! I am a researcher from GMA News TV – Kiko Rustia presents: Dis Is Pinas. It is a weekly 30-minute block-timer program that features various Philippine heritage sites like landmarks, historical buildings and other significant natural structures.
